An inspiration board in my studio

My practice is currently centred around a menagerie of creatures, which I have made and collected over a number of years. The creatures serve as prompts and inspiration for work, either on their own or in still life arrangements. They have an anthropomorphic quality which suggests a sense of drama or humour.

I also exhibit as part of a group of seven local artists (all of whom are either former {like myself} or current art teachers from Newcastle-under-Lyme College), under the group name #7.

Two of my drawings were shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2016, and were exhibited in various galleries around the country throughout 2016-17. I will be selling my work at Made by Hand – The Contemporary Craft Fair – in Cardiff in November 2017 – for details please see Exhibitions & Events.
